Short of David Beckham

Young David Beckham is brought by his family to watch football matches of Manchester United at Old Trafford. Everyone in the Beckham family is a super-zealous fan of Manchester United Football Club. David started playing soccer for a local youth club called Ridgeway Rovers, which was coached by Steve Kirby and David's father. It was not a surprise that David became a fan of Manchester United.
Perhaps due to the influence of his family, the young David Beckham always wanted to play for the Red Devils. His chance came on July 8, 1991. Upon reaching his fourteenth birthday, David was talented enough to be selected for the Manchester United Youth Program. He would step onto the football pitch at Old Trafford for the first time, but only as a mascot next to members of the senior team.
Later on, he would step on the pitch when he came on as a substitute for Andrei Kanchelski on 23rd September 1992. The match was Manchester United against Brighton and it also marked David Beckham's Debut as a senior Manchester United player.
David was subsequently part of the famous Manchester United Youth Team that won the FA Youth Cup in 1992 and the runner-up subsequently in 1993. At just a tender age of 18, David signed a professional player's contract in January 1993 and further build up his stature as a professional player. He scored a goal in his first Champions League match which Manchester United won.
David played regularly on the right side of the midfield during the 1996-1997 season. The whole of England bore witness to David Beckham's crossing, curving free kicks and long shot abilities. With Beckham featuring regularly in the squad, Manchester United won the treble as they swept the FA Premier League, FA Cup and the Charity Shield. Soon, Beckham would be called up into the national setup and made his international debut in a game against Moldova.
In both the World Cup 1998 and European Cup 2000, David was included into the 23-man squad and played his heart out for England. Later on for the World Cup 2002, he was officially handed the role of the captain and led the national team out during the World Cup games.
By June 2003, David has amassed an impressive total of 61 caps for his country. Along with his former teammates from the Youth Team, which includes Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and the Neville brothers, David would collect the medals of the treble of the FA Cup, Premier League and the European Cup during the 1998-1999 regular season.
After Manchester United, David signed for Real Madrid for the 2003-2004 season. After helping them to win the Spanish league, he decided to have a new challenge and signed for the LA Galaxy in the United States. It took a while for him and LA Galaxy to contest for the honors of the MLS cup, that is until 2011. On Sun, 20 Nov, 2011, David and LA Galaxy will face Houston Dynamo for the final showdown to decide who will be champions of all of North America. David set up the play to pass to Robbie Keane, who lay the final pass to LA Galaxy captain Landon Donovan who scores the goal, ending a long 5-year wait for the MLS Championship title.

David Robert Joseph Beckham, OBE(born 2 May 1975)is an English association footballer who currently plays for Los Angeles Galaxy. He has previously played for Manchester United, Preston North End, Real Madrid, Milan, as well as the England national team, for which he holds the all-time appearance record for an outfield player.

Beckham's career began when he signed a professional contract with Manchester United, making his first-team debut in 1992 aged 17.During his time there, United won the Premier League title six times, the FA Cup twice, and the UEFA Champions League in 1999.He left Manchester United to sign for Real Madrid in 2003, where he remained for four seasons,clinching the La Liga championship in his final season with the club.In January 2007, it was announced that Beckham would leave Real Madrid for the Major League Soccer club Los Angeles Galaxy,[8] signing a five-year contract with them on 1 July 2007. While a Galaxy player, he spent two loan spells in Italy with Milan in 2009 and 2010. He was made captain from 15 November 2000[10] until the 2006 FIFA World Cup finals,during which he played 58 times. He earned a much-publicised hundredth cap against France on 26 March 2008,and became the all-time outfield player appearance record holder on 28 March 2009 when he surpassed Bobby Moore's total of 108 caps.[4] With 115 career appearances to date he has stated that he does not intend to retire from international football, having missed the 2010 World Cup through injury and not featuring in England manager Fabio Capello's post-World Cup plans.

Beckham has twice been runner-up for FIFA World Player of the Yearand in 2004 was the world's highest-paid footballer when taking into account salary and advertising deals.Beckham was the first British footballer to play 100 Champions League matches.He is third in the Premier League's all time time assist provider chart, with 152 assists in 265 appearances.When joining the MLS in 2007 he was given the highest player salary in the league's history, with his playing contract with the Galaxy over the next three years being worth US$6.5m per year.

He is married to Victoria Beckham (previously Victoria Caroline Adams) and they have four children, Brooklyn Joseph, Romeo James, Cruz David, and Harper Seven. As of 2009, the couple's joint wealth is estimated at £125 million
